In the US, some 1.7 million people live without a limb. The most common reasons for limb loss include vascular disease, diabetes, cancer, traumatic injuries, or congenital disorders.
At Audubon Orthotic & Prosthetic Services, we understand how devastating it is to lose a limb, and we are proud to be able to help our patients regain their function and self-confidence with a high quality, durable prosthesis (artificial extension that replaces a lost part of the body).
Within our expansive state-of-the-art lab, we can design, fit, and fabricate custom prostheses for the lower extremity (leg) and upper extremity (arm).
We’ll be with you every step of the way!
Audubon Orthotic & Prosthetic Services provides FREE pre-operative and post-operative consultations. One of our highly skilled prosthetists will meet with you both before and after your amputation surgery to go over the process with you. We want to ease your mind my ensuring you know what to expect.
Following surgery, you will wear an immediate post-operative prosthesis (IPOP) until the swelling subsides and your residual limb heals. Once it has healed, we can fit you for your permanent prosthesis.
We will work closely with you to design a prosthesis that meets your needs and exceeds your expectations. We take great pride in our work and spend the time necessary to achieve an optimum fit for you. Our goal is to improve your quality of life, and we will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
The Audubon Prosthetic Enhancement Center is in Suite 1 at the Audubon Medical Campus. Our fitting room has a large set of parallel bars for safe walking during the fitting process. For our more active amputees, we have a treadmill that can be used for further analysis of the prosthetic fitting during longer durations and inclined terrain.
No matter your lifestyle, we can customize the perfect prosthesis for you.
